Lloyd Vernet Bridges, Jr. (natural January 15, 1913 in San Leandro, California; died March 10, 1998 in Los Angeles, California) was an American actor. Bridges was innate around San Leandro. He exposed political science at UCLA, where he met his new married woman, Dorothy Dean Simpson; them married inside 1939.

He was born to Kansas natives Lloyd Vernet Bridges, Sr. & Harriet Dark brown. Bridges processed his Broadway debut within 1939 in the production of Shakespeare's Othello. He was blacklisted briefly in the 1950s after he admitted to the House Un-American Activities Committee that he had it used to be that been the member of the Communist Party. He gained wide recognition when Mike Nelson, a star of the television series Sea Hunt, which ran from 1957-1961. He is as easily well-known for his roles in the pic High Noon, Airplane!, and Hot Shots!. He was the guest star for the toddlers's television Christmas favorite; Shining Time Station: 'Tis A Gift as Mr. Nicholas (Santa Claus).

The world federalist, Bridges once said, “a devastation from either war & the pollution of my environment knows there are no boundaries. Lloyd Bridges is the father of actors Jeff Bridges and Beau Bridges and the grandfather of Jordan Bridges.
